FAQs

How your child will benefit?

  • Increase confidence, motivation, Sport specific skills, health and fitness, social skills, discipline and most of all have fun!!!

  • We keep numbers to a minimum to ensure more attention from the coach and a better learning environment.

  • A safe environment to learn, and convenient for parents as they can stay straight after the school day finishes and not have to worry about getting them to another venue. This also allows the parents more time to do things they need to at a small cost.

  • Fully CRB checked, qualified, experienced and insured teachers using a friendly and positive approach to ensure the best tuition possible.

What to wear?

  • School sessions: We advise students to wear comfortable clothing such as leggings, tracksuit/jogging bottoms, shorts, t-shirts, vest tops and training shoes (we sometime allow bare feet if necessary). Please note, no jewellery or socks to be worn due to health and safety.

We also have Nu-Skool Academy merchandise available here on our website to order if you wish to.

  • Ongoing weekly sessions (Run in venues by Nu-Skool Academy privately): We try to keep the sessions uniformed by asking the students to dress in the appropriate colours, Red, Black, Grey and white or to wear clothing from our Nu-Skool Academy range.

How and when pay? *

  • School sessions: Payment is usually organised in house at the school so you would take your payment and registration slip to the allocated teacher before the term starts to secure your place (Details will be in the letters).

  • Ongoing Weekly Sessions: You will be invoiced by email before the term starts and details of how to pay will be included in the invoice.

* Please note, no cheques/cash to be given to any teachers, all payments are to be sent to our south east office address.

What if they miss class?

For all classes, if you miss a class that is fine, but please try to call the school or the Nu-Skool Academy office so teachers are aware you won’t be attending. Unfortunately we cannot give refund for classes students don’t attend.  If however we have to cancel a class due to weather etc, we will try to reschedule so they don’t miss a class or we will issue a refund.

Can I watch?

Due to research and experience, we find children work better without their parents and peers watching the sessions. They are more focused and work harder and are less likely to be distracted. However, at most sessions (depending on each individual school rules also), we have a watching week on the last session of term when we encourage parents and siblings to come along and watch a session to see how much they have improved. Sometimes the children will also get the opportunity to perform in their school shows, assemblies and talent contests so keep looking out for information in their school newsletters. We will also let you know of any performances we know about.

What if my child is very shy?

Lots of children who attend our sessions started off quite shy, but as the weeks go on and they get more comfortable and confident in the sessions you will see a big increase in their confidence and enthusiasm. We encourage parents to enrol their children if they are shy as we believe helping to build their confidence will help them in all aspects of their life and help them make better judgements and decisions in their life, no matter what career they choose. They will also meet a lot of new friends which will also help their confidence grow.

What happens if my child says they don't want to come anymore?

We usually find there are other problems the children are facing if this happens and encourage parents to talk to their children to check everything is ok. We also encourage parents to call us with any concerns they may have so we can work together on a solution.

If after this they still don’t want to attend, we simply need half terms notice in writing to cancel sessions otherwise fees will be due as this is a potential space for another child. Please see Terms and Conditions on the student registration form or email us for a copy if you don’t have one.
